Your beloved digital camera suddenly stops working in the middle of a photo-shoot, vacation or a relative's birthday party, a day after its warranty runs out. What are you gonna do after you finish crying? A kitchen drawer or and an empty wallet is not in the cards. Rather than spend a couple hundred dollars on a new camera, why not have it repaired at PhotoTech, a camera repair shop in New York City?
Phototech specializes in authorized camera, video and lens repair for Canon, Fuji, Kyorcera, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, Pentax, Phoenix and much more. I discovered Phototech last year after my Canon G9 quit on me. I was leaving a party for DJ Clark Kent at the Nike store in Midtown when my G9 kissed marble near coat check. The camera worked fine for a few weeks then, one day before a still life shoot in my studio, it refused to power on.I bought new batteries, flushed it with compressed air, prayed to the camera gods, etc. and it would not work! Adding insult to injury my warranty expired a week earlier. Conversations with Canon Customer Service were far from fruitful and my eyes were twitching from all the threads I read in camera and DIY electronic forums online. Then, after a conversation with a friend on Facebook, and a quick internet search for reviews, I decided to give PhotoTech a try.
When I got there I was sweating bullets. My pockets were shallow and I wondered what they would charge for a repair. Less than a week after dropping my machine off, my G9 was as good as new! The cost of repair was less than I anticipated: For under 150$ my camera was cleaned and the powerboard and lens motor were replaced. PLUS! I was given a six month warranty in case I had additional problems. I paid 134.00$ in total. My experience with PhotoTech was so positive, I have recommended their services to friends and family who have defective cameras.
This holiday season, PhotoTech has a special offer to all Binge subscribers, contributors, readers and volunteers: 10% discount on labor. Since their prices are so low, that 10% is a big deal, especially when you take the recession into consideration. With Locations in Midtown and near Union Square, you can't lose with PhotoTech.

Via Missinfo, Okayplayer and RappersIKnow:It has been a minute since anyone has heard from the mysterious Jay Electronica. Just to let you know he’s alive and well, working on new music, and apparently traveling both the globe and time(?), Jay cut some footage from his trip to Asia to a new track of his produced by Just Blaze called “Dear Moleskine.” The footage was shot on location by Jason Goldwatch. Specifically, in this piece, the Pashputinath Hindu Temple and The Bodinath Buddhist Temple in Kathmandu Nepal. It is from a collaborative film/music project between Jay Electronica’s The Dogon Society and DECON. The project currently has no title or street date. "Dear Moleskine" Video teaser is below
